MREPC successfully organised a working visit to Germany and the Netherlands from 28 March - 6 April 2017. The delegation, which was led by the Chief Executive Officer of MREPC, Ms Low Yoke Kiew, comprised four Malaysian rubber product manufacturers as well as a representative each from the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) and the Malaysian Rubber Products Manufacturers Association (MRPMA). The delegation visited the manufacturing facilities of some German and Dutch companies and were exposed to the latest technologies in robotics and automation. In Germany, the Malaysian delegates met with officials from FLG Automation, HAHN Automation and the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA). In the Netherlands, the delegates had meetings with Vicoma Engineering, Dutch Dipping, Machinefabriek Boessenkool and Smart Robotics. The delegates also had discussions with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), Rotterdam Partners, Rotterdam Port of Authority, Holland International Distribution Council (HIDC) and Rhenus Contract Logistics. This enabled the delegates to discover the opportunities available in the area of logistics and tax incentives provided in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The delegates also learned the benefits of using the Port of Rotterdam as an entry point to Europe as well as supporting services provided by relevant organisations in the Netherlands.
