To further strengthen glove awareness in the country, MREPC successfully organised an event to contribute one million rubber gloves to the Perak State Health Department on Sunday, 21 May 2017. The eventful ceremony was officiated by YB. Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, who presented a mock cheque for one million gloves to YBhg. Dato' Dr Hassan Merican, the Director of Perak State Health Department. The gloves will be distributed to hospitals, clinics, dental clinics and other medical institutions throughout Perak. The glove contribution is aimed at supporting the State Health Department's efforts to improve healthcare services as well as share the importance of glove usage with the healthcare community and public. In conjunction with the glove contribution ceremony, MREPC also organised a Karnival 1 Juta Sarung Tangan Getah Negeri Perak at the historical site of Dataran Menara Condong, Teluk Intan. The venue was an ideal location to attract the public to enjoy an array of fun activities such as an aerobic exercise, fun games with many prizes to win, a clown and balloon show, as well photo and exhibition booths. Teluk Intan Hospital also provided free health screening and conducted a blood donation drive which attracted the public. The event marked MREPC's second series of glove donation to state health departments after its first to Sarawak in 2016.
